Gray and Color Scale

In this project, I have learned how to create a gray scale by taking a picture of myself and putting it using adobe illustrator. This project included also a colored version of the gray scale by being more creative based on using different colors and and strategic maneuvers. This contained hard work by using 8 layers on my design, including sweater, neck, face, ears, eyes, eyeballs, backpack and hair. By using these layers, this helped separate the parts of my body in order to put creative textures and effects. But before this, I had to use photoshop in order to create the gray scale portrait and transfer the picture to adobe illustrator. After finishing up the gray scale, the teacher told us to be more creative. That's when the color came in, so it can be more realistic in the picture. This included color on my sweater, face and ears. This included realistic textures coming to part. This project included hard work and lots of help from my teacher. But, overall I see improvement on most of my work and see myself improving in this class. This project was a fun assignment to do and a very challenging one to complete.

  1. This is a very simple and well put art work. The colors are very good but he kind aleft out his sweater and the background to shade in

  2. The drawing is very proportionate and accurate to the original grayscale portrait. I enjoy the the use of bright colors. The nose and hair really stick out in the portrait. Next time make sure to draw a background and work on the lines precision since some parts of the original portrait like the top of your hair stick out.

  3. do the background next time but very good job with the colors but could have been more neat

  4. This artwork is incredibly straightforward and well-done. The colors are excellent, however he kind of left all the details seen in the sweater and the background causing it to look less interesting/contrast.

  5. The drawing looks well done and neat but you could've done a bit better with the background but I like the color variety you used

  6. I think this work was rushed and could use better color. One thing I like of this work is the glasses.
