Painted Self Portrait

Image
During this project. I have learned how to use Adobe Photoshop in order to color my self portrait. I have used 12 layers in this project, including eyebrows, sweater, backpack, face, eyebrows, glasses, the shades in my eyes, eyes, neck, ears, mouth, and nose. This project was challenging because you have the adjust the brush to absolute perfection in order to align the the lines around your parts of the body and clothing. Photoshop has been an interesting platform to use in order to paint over objects or shapes of a painting or photo. I would rate my painting as decent since, it was pretty difficult to align the lines in the clothing in order to use the bucket tool to cover up the blank spaces in the portrait. The shades of my eyes were pretty hard to make since I Had to do it over the eye and have good concentration in order to be perfect. Although its not perfect, I showed effort in order to be successful in this project. Overall, this project was pretty fun and busy to do at t...

Gray and Color Scale

Image
In this project, I have learned how to create a gray scale by taking a picture of myself and putting it using adobe illustrator. This project included also a colored version of the gray scale by being more creative based on using different colors and and strategic maneuvers. This contained hard work by using 8 layers on my design, including sweater, neck, face, ears, eyes, eyeballs, backpack and hair. By using these layers, this helped separate the parts of my body in order to put creative textures and effects. But before this, I had to use photoshop in order to create the gray scale portrait and transfer the picture to adobe illustrator. After finishing up the gray scale, the teacher told us to be more creative. That's when the color came in, so it can be more realistic in the picture. This included color on my sweater, face and ears. This included realistic textures coming to part. This project included hard work and lots of help from my teacher. But, overall I see...

Portrait and Type

Image
In this project, I've learned how to create a portrait of a person using type and letters to create a picture of Elon Musk. This project included layers in order to separate and organize our design with different parts of the face, including eyebrows, face, mouth, hair, nose and eyes.

Analog and Digital Color

What are pixels? Pixels are the smallest unit in a digital display. Up to millions of pixels make up an image or video on a device's screen. How is color viewed in computer monitors? A monitor generates three colors of light and the different colors we see are due to different combinations and intensities of these three primary colors. What is the additive color space? The additive color model describes how light produces color. Describe which additive color sliders values in InDesign you would use to make white and black. The colors of the addictive color are green, red and blue that produce white light. What is the subtractive color space? Subtractive Color Space is the mixing of pigments in substrate. Describe which subtractive color sliders values in InDesign you would use to make white and black. The colors I would use to make a white and black color would be blue and red since this colors both make white light. What is color calibration? Color calibration is to measure or a...

Hierarchy Exercises

Image
The Hierarchy exercises were meant to be written with a Garamond font in order to complete this project. Hierarchy is the control of visual information in an arrangement or presentation to imply importance. The first diagram shows the contrasting of weight. Contrasting weight is the process of a graphic element is related to both its size and its density. Contrasting scale is shown on the second diagram. Contrasting scale is is all about comparing varied size relationships. Scale refers to the relative size of a design element in comparison to another element. The third diagram shows the hierarchy of contrasting color. Contrasting color is the use of color as the only way to convey meaning. The fourth diagram shows the hierarchy of contrasting alignment. Contrasting alignment refers to lining up text or graphics on a page. The fifth diagram shows the hierarchy of contrasting case. Contrasting case is to differentiate the letters from capital letters and lowerc...

Gestalt on Grid

Image
The gestalt principle of continuation is the tendency of the human eye to follow a continuous path be it lines, curves, or intersections until it encounters another path or intersection. For example in the fifth illustration, It shows a continuity of four squares in each 4 rows that keep moving down so that it can still continue further below. The gestalt principle of similarity says that elements that are similar are perceived to be more related than elements that are dissimilar. Similarity helps us organize objects by their relatedness to other objects within a group and can be affected by the attributes of color, size, shape and orientation. For example in the 3rd diagram, it shows a split in between the words in the middle. Closure  is the illusion of seeing an incomplete stimulus as though it were whole. Thus, one unconsciously tends to complete a triangle or a square that has a gap in one of its sides. For example in the 4th illustration, it shows a letter T that has s...
